A list of games utilising Voxel Space engines.
Comanche: Maximum Overkill
1992, NovaLogic
A flight-sim game wherein the player takes control of a Comanche helicopter.
Released for MS-DOS in 1992 and for Mac in 1995. First use of the VoxelSpace engine for a commercial project. An SNES port utilising the SuperFX chip was unveiled at E3 in 1995 (video here), however was cancelled.
This was followed by Comanche 2, providing some improvements and additional content.
The Wizard of Voxels (Interview with Kyle Freeman, lead programmer)
Comanche 3
1997, NovaLogic
The follow-up to Comanche 1 & 2, introducing NovaLogic's new-and-improved engine: VoxelSpace 2. This engine builds on the prior VoxelSpace engine, adding support for polygonal meshes amongst other graphical improvements. It would be great to do a teardown of the logic behind the renderer.
